I'm just an old amateur musician and songwriter shamelessly embracing new A.I. music creation technology to feel some of my creative spark again. Is this pitiful? Kinda. Do I care? No.

Summer
Skin
A tropical-feel ballad with new lyrics based on an original instrumental track recorded in 2010 called Strato Surf. Once Suno spun the opening guitar phrasing I leaned heavy into the Sade-style prompts to create the music and lyrics for Summer Skin. My guitar and bass playing, and some of the orignal arrangement was preserved, but the overall result is this sexy, sultry tune.

The Night
Turns Black
This is a full AI musical composition based on a short guitar solo that I lifted from another 2010-era digital recording and some old 70s-era lyrics I wrote about spy life and murder. It's a little cheesy and dramatic IMO, but its worst offense is how the chorus sticks in your head forever. You're welcome.

I Wouldn't
Know God
An indie-styled ballad applied to lyrics I wrote more than 20 years ago about breaking through my faith-based fears. No judgment. Believe or don't believe what you want. I'll do the same. I wish I could actually play and sing like this, but I can't. I came up with the melody by relying on A.I. prompts to deliver a simple singer-songwriter vibe to my words and I'm extremely happy with this result.

Pointless
A fast-paced song about a dysfunctional breakup. The music comes from an old Roland/Boss drum and bass jam track of the same name. The basic chord progression and guitars are from my original recording. The lyrics were written about a year ago.

Bold soul and bluesy grit is what I was going for with this tune. The main structure comes from my 2008 recording called Hair Guitar.

I'm Coming
Home
This tune is based on my instrumental jam track, Country Crescendos. I've turned it into a crossover country-rock song. The lyrics tell the story of a soldiers return home and his quest for a calmer existence.

This is an alternate take on my 2010 Samplitude multi-track composition called "Walking on Waters" - a shameless Pink Floyd ripoff. I took more liberties writing Floyd-esque lyrics about rebuilding in a post apocalyptic society.

Limping Away
Reimagined version of a muddy cassette of a LIMP rehearsal session recorded in the early seventies. I'm sure the melody is derived from some late 60's blues tune, but neither I or Shazam can figure which one. It's definitely me on overly loud lead guitar and Ed on drums and unintelligible vocals.
I've re-worked it into a bombastic rock song about trying to fight through any kind of pain, and losing.

I've played music most of my life. As an older gentleman, my peak playing abilities are behind me. During the course of my musical experience I was always compelled to tinker with the recording process. This interest led to the collection and storage of some of the music I've created with my own hands and stashed away on reel-to-reel tape, cassettes, floppy discs and a cupful of SD cards.
While AI tools like Suno can manufacture music from little more than a descriptive prompt or a whistled tune, it can also be used as a creative post-production tool to embellish and revive old tracks with modern technology.
Tools like Suno and others have come under fire by artists and corporations alike because they have been trained on a steady diet of copyrighted material. I would argue that the collective know-how derived from existing sources is how everything improves.
The debate continues and programs like Suno, now operate under a tightening web of copyright filters and corporate label‑driven restrictions. Luckily, an old garage-band practitioner like myself has no trouble putting my amateur tracks through the system to come up with some new music that preserves my musical intent, but executes on a much higher level.
